Germany and China on Friday issued a joint statement calling for renewed effort toward a political, non-violent solution of the conflict in Libya.
During a visit to Beijing, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and his counterpart Yang Jiechi said there could be no military solution.
Both countries abstained from a UN Security Council vote two weeks ago that approved the imposition of a no-fly zone over the Middle Eastern country.
