In Beijing this weekend, a group of people who were trying to get in line to purchase the device decided the recently launched handset was worth fighting for, and clashed with Apple Store employees in a fight that caused the store to close down for several hours.
Apple spokeswoman Carolyn Wu said the group “became unruly” and employees “acted to protect themselves and our customers by closing the doors and preventing the group from entering.”
The scuffle was vigorous enough that one of the store’s glass doors ended up shattered.
